Cottage Weekend With Some Changes....and Stitches....

For Friday I was prepared for the day.  Thursday night I made a giant 2 chocolate and Skor toffee cookie for Julie in our office who is leaving our campus.  I decorated it with royal icing and we were to share it on Friday.  I used the cookie recipe below which was very delicious.  For the giant cookie I covered my pizza pan with foil, greased it and spread out the dough in a circle.   It took about 25 minutes to bake.

I also baked the rest of the huge recipe found here that made about 60 cookies that I was taking to the Rockledge cottage in N.Y.   This was a roofing weekend and my sons and Marc's S-I-L were doing the job.
I was heading out to another campus in the morning to facilitate a Personality Dimensions class to first year students.  Then I was heading to the cottage.
Then....this happened.  I won't share with you the way my foot looks right now.

The building's large heavy door somehow ran across my foot tearing a huge portion of the top of my foot.  Immediately I was swimming in blood in my favourite low heel shoes.  I drove myself to the hospital and had 4 stitches and a Tetanus shot.  Ouch.

I never did make it to the class and later in the afternoon managed to drive myself to the cottage.  I rested my foot all weekend and am still at home from work.  It is still swollen and sore and the stitches are still doing a bit of bleeding if I walk too much.

At the cottage we celebrated and ate Julie's cookie....
Richard and Robin working on the roof....

Geoff wearing his tool belt...
Janet and Jack and Austin....
beautiful weather for Kiley and Janet and chit chat...

we had a clam bake....

and a clam shucking tutorial...

and the roof, not completely finished in this picture, was completed with beautiful weather.

I hope you had a really nice weekend....and that my foot gets better quickly...

Oh you poor thing! My foot hurts in sympathy!

Well, I guess you can take some time to spoil yourself a bit and keep that foot elevated. Let others wait on you.
