Didn't Wanna....but We're Back..

Our Panama Canal cruise was a very beautiful trip. We're back home to reality now and we even had snowflakes in the air this morning! The weather on our trip was perfect and such a treat. It was wonderful....and in Jamaica this is how far away we were from Toronto and New York.
The Coral Princess was a lovely ship...with much finery...

The colour and lovely decor followed throughout...

Amazing to look at this picture and then wonder where the 3000 passengers and crew were right now. The ship was large enough and there was plenty of room and places to spend quiet time. This area wasn't always this quiet naturally...

We travelled with great friends, a total of 10 couples. This picture isn't clear unfortunately and one couple is missing from this picture. This was taken in the diningroom on the night of our 2nd formal.

Here 4 couples got together in the hall for the first formal. Marc and I are on the far left.

A picture of us getting ready for the first formal. We all took a lot of pictures which we'll be able to share of each occasion.

This is Claudio our maitre' d in a picture with me. He worked so hard to ensure everything was fabulous in the diningroom. Whether we ate in there for breakfast or lunch or whether our group was the last one out at 10:00 p.m he was there.

The meals in the diningroom were delicious and the presentation amazing....

Everything was delicious....

The menu had such a great variety of foods. There was always something different and included pheasant, lamb in a variety of mouth watering dishes prepared in new recipes to us.

I will share more pictures and beauty with you. During the trip it felt like we had been away forever which is a good way to be feeling on vacation. Then suddenly it was time to leave and none of us wanted. Whoever wants to leave a good time.

I hope you have all been well. I've been busy doing the regular washing and putting away and cleaning up cat fur..*g* since being back. Since we've been back home Marc and I have had "sea legs". Moving about we could "feel" rocking as we had on the ship. We didn't have this after the first cruise so its rather strange. I seem to be better today.

I look forward to catching up on my blog reading. Have a wonderful Sunday... Judi xoxo

Vacation Time!

Our vacation started today.
I saw my youngest son at my work over lunch today and my eldest son Geoff and my granddaughter Madeline came over after my work. What a perfectly wonderful way to start a vacation with such a nice send off. :o) We won't be accessing internet for 2 weeks while we're away. Enjoy spring, have fun and be safe. See you when I get back.... Judi xoxo

Vacation Time...Patient Wait... :o)

One more week of work and then finally we start a 2-week vacation. Yipee..

I hardly believe the time is here because our Panama Canal Cruise was booked over a year ago and it was best not to even think about it. It seemed so far ahead. So here we are...almost and we'll be travelling with friends. There are 9 other couples and 5 of those couples including us have booked early enough to have our rooms side-by-side. As we did on our last cruise when we travelled with 4 of the couples we will have our balcony doors unlocked between us. We can sit privately on our balcony but we can also visit with each other. I can hardly wait!
We'll be stopping at Aruba, Pamana, Columbia, Costa Rica and Ochos Rios in Jamaica. I've been reading about the Panama Canal and its very interesting. There is some history here... We're all excited for this trip.

Geoff is going to be here to look after Abby and I know I'm going to miss her. She has some finicky ways about her and I know she'll miss me....at least my understanding and catering to her needs. *s*...
I've pulled out my summer clothes which seems strange because it is still so wintery here...brrrrrr...I washed and ironed them and everything is ready to be packed. Its going to be a week full of inspiration....and I hope yours is too! Judi xoxo

Vintage Lacey Finds....

Spring arrived on Sunday. In words it arrived around here but not weather wise. The temperature is still only in the low 30s and we are supposed to get some snow flurries this week. Most of the snow has melted with the above freezing temps and recent rain.

Even though we're wearing winter clothes around here it was exciting to pull out my summer clothes. We are going on a 2 week vacation 2 weeks from this past Sunday. I washed my clothes and set some of them out to iron.

I also found these to share with you. Last summer I was at a barn sale in NY state by the cottage. I purchased 3 ziplock bags of vintagt lace. Each bag was either $1.00 or $2.00 each.

I soaked them in gentle lingerie detergent and rinsed them carefully. I have some ideas on what to do with them. I'd like to use some of them in quilting, or pillowcases or making something sweet for Madeline.

Aren't they pretty and so feminine....

What suggestions do you have? Have you used vintage lace for a special project?

Have a lovely day.... Judi xoxo
