It has continued to be a busy time baking and keeping up with orders. I love baking and THAT is a good thing!
Today I baked a double layer chocolate mocha cake. Each layer has a layer of buttercream frosting and then my marshmallow fondant to cover. I've been experimenting with making fondant flowers. The camera was picking up on the black colour and it looks duller than real life. I am going to put some glitter on the tips of the flowers to enhance them anyway.
You know how the plumbers faucets leak, the mechanics car needs work done, the roofers house leaks, the .....you know...well its not nice to say that I too was busy and for Valentine's I had to buy a small cake from the store for Marc and I. Truly I had no time to bake for us. On the weekend we planned a last minute dinner with my sons and their families coming over on Saturday. We had ice cream for dessert! I felt badly.
Well...today I did bake some cupcakes and we'll have some for dessert tomorrow night when Geoff (my eldest son) and Madeline (my granddaughter) come over. At least I'll be more prepared.
Today is Family Day here in Canada and I have the day off work...it has been a beautiful weathered day.... Hope yours was a good day too! Judi xoxo

Hi Judy! I saw this lovely cake on FB! You are so good and your icing is so pretty and smooth! You're excused to buy a cake every now and then! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia;)
Happy Family Day, Judi. What a good idea to have a holiday for the family!
If you had cake and ice cream, Marc must have been pleased--even if it was store bought. Nothin' better than cake and ice cream.
OH what a cute cake! I adore the look! Have a blessed day, dear friend! I know you both enjoyed the cupcakes for desserts:) BIG HUGS!
Hi Judi, If only you weren't so far away. Your cake is so beautiful including the cupcakes. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary in April. We do not have a bakery in our small town that specializes in cakes and cupcakes. Our grocery store does so, that is where I have to order our cake and cupcakes. I'm sue they will be fine but I am also sure they couldn't compare to yours.
Stay warm,
xo, Jeanne
