The Friendship Maple

Between us and our neighbours Georgia and Bob is a maple tree.  It has become sort of a friendship or communication tree.  Which is fun.  Over the past few years one of us will have left some kind of surprise for the other.  Its fun and sweet.

After our family get together on July 1st and 4th celebrations we found this envelope dangling from the tree.  It read on the outside of the envelope "Calling All Canadians".  Can you read it all?

Inside was a very sweet note written by Georgia....she signed it "Travel safely, hurry back"....we were all travelling back to Canada in 3 vehicles that morning...

wasn't that nice?

This is one package we left for them this spring.....to hang on the friendship maple...
The cottage had just been opened for the season and we left them a little "Happy Spring" card...along with cookies I believe it was.
Georgia left this the pretty bag below (minus the lavender I slipped inside it) with a card and 2 darling little teacups for Madeline.  I was so excited it seems that I didn't take a picture of it hanging or what was inside!
Those are some of the fun communication we share with Georgia and Bob by way of the Friendship Maple... Perhaps you have nice neighbours you share with as well....

Hi Judi, What a charming idea and story. Having a friendship like this is priceless. In the past we have had wonderful neighbors like this but now one of my four sisters is my closest neighbor. We are best friends too of course. We do lots of sweet neighborly things for each other but we do not have a friendship Maple tree.

I hope the rest of your vacation is wonderful. Your cottage sounds like the best possible place to spend some time on a vacation. We have had a great summer full of fun but it is good to be home for now.

Wishing you many happy days.
Hugs, Jeanne xoxoxo

Hi Judi! I love this idea though I've never heard of a friendship maple. What a sweet thing to do with neighbors! I'm sure your neighbors devoured your marvelous cookies! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

What a wonderful idea this is.
It is hard to find true friends and when you do it is a blessing.

The saying goes, "to have good neighbors, be a good neighbor."

Hi Judi, This is a lovely idea. I want a friendship maple of my own but I want you as my neighbour too :)
I adore the british themed cookies. They must take hours to do especially the phone booth. You are the most talented cookie maker ever.
