Painting of a Whimsical Child's Rocker... Part 1

I had thrifted a child's rocking chair before Christmas.  It is in great shape, sturdy and so worthy of a whimsical facelift...

Today so far I've primed it white..

I will give it another coat of white and then proceed with the fun painting.   At HomeDepot little sample pots of Martha Stewart paint regularly $4.99 were on sale for $1.00 each.  I purchased 11 different shades and paid $11.00 instead of $55.00!  Is that not a great bargain?  I thought so.
For this project I'll be using some of these colours....
up close you can see the colours on the bottles...
and saving these colours for another day.
As I blog I can sit and look at my newly painted diningroom table covered in plastic and newspaper the perfect height for painting the rocker.  Last weekend's "Happy Shamrock Day" decoration still sits in my shamrock plant.   Peter and Kirsti's helium filled balloons that were forgotten from last weekend's celebration of their recent birthdays fly with the wind.  At least my chandalier sparkles in the mess...*s*...

I'll share the chair with you when its done...if it turns out ok...*grinning*... Have a great Sunday... Judi xoxo

Did I ever tell you that I re-did a childs rocker in high school? It was kinda olive green and with a stain over top...but looked really cool. It was so much fun to do! Can't wait to see what you end up doing with it!!! :)

Judi: You have done a great job so far. Bob and I saw a vintage Mercedes the other day. Your paint job was as delicious looking. Can't wait to see Part II. And I love the colors that will be part of another creation.
