Happy St. Patrick's Day

May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
~Irish Blessing

Are you Irish and do you do something special in honour or St. Patrick's Day?
If you aren't Irish do you still do something for St. Patrick's Day?

We're not but we do. We often invite family or friends over for St. Paddy's dinner. This year Marc and I will have our traditional dinner. We'll put a nice brisket in the crockpot with onions and cabbage and little potatoes and carrots and nice spices. After cooking all day our place will smell devine and dinner will be yummy. Corned beef sandwiches on a fresh rye bread are great leftovers. I think it'll be time to try a new rye bread recipe.

All the best of luck and blessings to you today... Judi xoxo

Top o' the mornin' to you, Judi :-) We had our Irish meal a few days ago--and as far as I know, neither dh or I don't have Irish blood in us.

Got the bread baked yesterday evening. It didn't turn out right, but we'll try it again with less water. It didn't affect the taste, and dd is devouring it!

Happy St. Pat's to you, and I'm so glad you stopped by to check out my new blog!

I hope your day was truly blessed with the luck o' the Irish, Judi. Both my husband and I are part Irish, and we usually do celebrate, but unfortunately, he had to work tonight, so we will do it tomorrow.
Your meal sounded truly scrumptious!!!

Judi: Oh how I wish you were lakeside. My friend gave me some rye berries and I made a peasant German rye bread this week. Not for the faint-hearted but lightened in company with the Irish Soda bread that I also made. None left---had to go to a party with my Irish friends!!!!! will save a cup of the berries for the summer. Love from the lakeside, G.
