Hanging on Hummingbird - Dismal Day at the Cottage

Saturday was a beautiful day at the cottage. We had friends over for dinner and had such a nice time. But it sure got very windy when it was bedtime....real windy.

It remained that way in the morning. We ate our breakfast looking at this....thats not the sun but rather my flash you see in the horizon and it was very dark and see that wind sock?

The winds during the night and into the morning were huge and the rain fell in sheets.

This poor hummingbird looked so soaked and dismal but he was obviously hungry. He managed to stay on that feeder despite its swaying back and forth. It was so choppy out there...a good day to stay indoors.
Hope your day didn't start out this way... Judi xoxo

Poor little hummingbird, but I guess he was hungry and got his strength from that necter. They seem to do fine in the windy, rainy weather. Hope your weather got better.

Hi Judi! Oh, that little hummingbird was so hungry to work so hard to get a bite in that rain! Hope the rain didn't spoil your weekend. Thanks for asking about my mom, yes, she's doing well and will be 87 this month. She's living in a retirement home which works out best for all of us.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

We have been having rain every afternoon/evening the past three days and I heard it should continue this whole week! I kind of enjoy it though...and it certainly cools things down here!!! Today was a heat index to 105~!!! It is so humid and hot. YUCK!

Is your cottage on the ocean or a lake? I always wanted a cottage on a lake!!! I would live in it full time. My dream house!!! I would even take up water skiing!!!

Wow, that windsock was about to blow away. Poor little hummingbird... I know how quick they are, it is hard to get a picture of them. Little fella was really determined to finish what he started:) Enjoy your day and I hope you got some good rest during the storm! HUGS!

Hi Julie
This cottage is on Lake Ontario on the other side of Canada in New York State so one of the Great Lakes.

The cottage is about 1 hour from the U.S./Canada border where I drive from Ontario to New York State. On a perfect drive its 3 hours from where I live.

We can occasionally see the huge cargo ships wayyyyyy at a distance in the horizon.

Lovely to look at the sailboats and fishing boats...
