Wondering....Are You Like Me.....

Its not that I'm easily influenced by others but I'm somewhat influenced, or is it that I'm pretty
open minded and therefore what I don't like one day....or one year I get tempted
to "try" again, sometimes over and over and all of a sudden one day?? Voila...I like it!
I wonder whether thats a challenge to me for some reason...

Years ago my bestest girlfriend and I would eat our lunch in the school.
She frequently ate yogurt. We didn't eat yogurt at home. Everytime I tried it it
tasted so bad and I never finished more than one teaspoon. Yet every time I saw her
eating it I wished I liked it!? Periodically I would try it , and again and again and
always the same. One day it tasted so different and I liked it and still do.

Sometimes things flip though. I loved caraway seeds in my rye bread. So did Marc.
He also liked it in boiled cabbage dishes. Recently we started eating that together and I just didn't think caraway seeds had any place in cabbage I told Marc I just couldn't do it. Soon after I didn't even like them in bread. One day when I was on my own I decided to make cabbage for myself and I added the caraway seeds. Now it tasted good to me. I happily told Marc who told me that since I told him about how I felt about caraway seeds he was totally turned off them. So now we've flipped tastes. I'm waiting for him to like caraway seeds again.

The reason I started this post was to tell you that there is something that I DO NOT
like to do. I have HAD to do it a few times over the past number of years and each time
I tell myself to remember how much I "hate" doing it. And furthermore I can't imagine how
anyone can like doing it. So guess what? This weekend Marc was away and will be until Friday and something inspired me to "try" it again. Guess what? I liked it! I'll share it with you
later in the week. He is going to be very surprised with me. Meanwhile I can't wait to get home after work to do some more... :o)

How easily is your mind changed? If you don't like something do you try it or forget it?
Have a great day...now don't forget about that! Judi xoxo

Yes I change my tastes over the years.
My most recent thing I hate, and most people think I am crazy is salmon. I have tried it many different ways and I just don't like it but I will keep trying since my husband is an avid salmon fisherman and loves the stinky stuff :) Maybe one day I will like it but for now NO !

Can't wait to hear what you have done while the cat was away :)

Hi Judy! My tastes flip around too. I don't mean to be a picky eater, but just do not like certain things. If something feels 'funny' in my mouth, I don't want to eat it! I call my condition - a delicate palette! :)
Hmmm...I wonder what you're liking now? :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Judi
Oh I am so intriged now. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
If I try something and don't like it, I would never try it again. I am so unadventurous with food.
One weird thing we do in this part of Yorkshire is that we eat Christmas Cake (rich fruit cake) with a lump of cheese! My husband is from 'down south' and when he first came here he thought we were all mad.
