It was a 5.1 earthquake with the brunt of it in Quebec and in Ottawa, Ontario and up north a couple of hours. There was structural building damage in Quebec. It had also spread to New York. I quickly emailed Marc and when I hit SEND I also received one from him from Rochester, NY. Same thing.
Quite the experience we don't want to experience for a long time. The day was followed by large rain and thunderstorms and tornado touchdowns in surrounding areas but fortunately not in mine. Weather can be disturbing because we have no control.....we like to have control....

A lot of people felt it hear in Michigan but I was driving at the time and didn't feel it. I felt one in 1986 and it is the weirdest thing!
Well I felt it in my sewing room. The house shook, lots of vibration. I did not know what it was thought it was a storm but did not hear any thunder. Then the warnings of tornados. What a day. We did not have any warning near us but was concerned about cottage country. Called my sister in Montreal she did not feel a thing.
Oh gosh, Judi, that must have been really terrifying...I can't imagine! That's one thing...we have time to at least kinda prepare for a hurricane, but an earthquake...that is a different story! It really affected a huge area!
I made you Pulla bread the other day and I didn't do it right. I used Rapid Rise yeast, and I don't think I used enough and definately did not use enough flour! It baked looking kinda the same thickness as ciabatta bread!!! It tasted wonderful, and I have to admit I added extra cardemom (we just love the taste of it). I can't wait to give it another try!!! THEN, I will post pics!!! LOL! Thanks so much for the recipe...it is the best tasting loaf we have ever had!!!

We don't get earthquakes either but a couple of years ago we had one during the night. I woke to find my husband shaking in bed. I thought he was having a fit but he was being shaken by the quake. It was scary.

Wow Judi, that's quite something! So thankful you weren't hurt. I have only felt one slight earthquake aftershock in my life and that's quite enough for me.
There was very little shaking in my city ,my daughter lives in Waterloo and it scared her to death .
I have never experienced an earthquake, living her is the SE of the USA, but we sure have our share of tornados :(. Glad you were not hurt.

When we lived in California, when we were first married, we felt a few of them. It is really an eerie feeling. Glad you are all fine.♥
