Merry Christmas.....

Merry Christmas to my Friends and my dear Blogging Friends...

We've had a lovely Christmas last night with family at my mom's.
After a delicious dinner we exchanged Santa gifts.  It was a fun evening.

Today we drive across to visit with Marc's family for Christmas Day.

I wish for you all a beautiful and happy day....safe driving if you are travelling.  Judi xoxo

Just Until Christmas....and then Its Gone!....

I love ice cream..mmmmhmmmm.....
Every Christmas we enjoy Candy Cane Ice Cream.  mmmmmmm.... President's Choice here in Canada has a delicious one with slivers of crunchy, dark chocolate...with crunches of candy cane.  Oh my even Abby my furbaby kitty really loves that one, you see next to yogurt....she loves ice cream.

Marc and I ate a bowl of it with a couple of Dutch gingerbread cookies.  I think this year I'm going to stock up with a couple of cartons because after Christmas.....its gone!

Do you buy candy cane ice cream?  I'd share.... Judi xoxo

Holly.. Berries...Friendships...

This weekend was my last trip to Rockledge Cottage in N.Y. for the season…reason? Freezin’. *g*. But it wasn’t freezing and nor was there snow. It has been such a good fall…may it last throughout the winter!!

Marc and I went to our friends’ annual Christmas Party. It was wonderful to see almost 70 people together for a lovely evening. Everyone brought in something delicious to pass and the eggnog was homemade and yum. Their traditional 12’ tall fresh tree was decked between the diningroom and kitchen in all its beauty.
This tree was named “Amanda”. Each year their tree is given a name you know….
We walked over to our neighbour’s cottage next door to say our seasonal goodbye. On our concrete steps was a lovely treasure from them. Georgia had cut sprigs of holly with its lovely red berries from their garden and tied them together with beautiful ribbon. Just beautiful in Georgia’s delicate and whimsical style when one least expects it.  I have it hanging from a mirror.

I gave Georgia one of my handmade soaps.  We promised to keep in touch by email and share our crafty ideas, recipes and just hellos.

I hope you have special neighbours also…. Judi xoxo

Handmade Christmas Bear Cushions

In between making products for Christmas sales....like these soy tealights for example,

I've found a little time to make Christmas Bear cushions. They come 4 different bears in a panel.

I just loved the vibrant happy Christmas colours.

I sewed them into cushions and tied up little bows and sewed them on the ribbon pictures on the pattern...... This one is a Christmas plaid ribbon ...

that is the same fabric as the back of the pillows....

This one has a wired ribbon that I already had that goes perfectly...

I added on a red button and a fancy gold button...

I think they would look cute if I used some of that sparkly fabric paint that comes in a tube and wrote Merry Christmas on the bear's bib.

These are going to be little Christmas warming gifts for our children for their homes. The little ones will like them I'm sure.

I'll bring one to my girlfriend next weekend when we visit for the American Thanksgiving...

Geez its hard to concentrate on the work part of my creations with projects like this...Judi xoxo

Christmas Week....

Its already Monday of Christmas week. This week has come very quickly for me. I don't know who's been getting my Christmas ready because tonight I went through the purchased gifts I've put here and there and I was pleasantly happy with everything. Tomorrow night I will pick up just a couple of final items and then I'm ready to wrap.

I have put up some Christmas and this is my Noah's Arc Nutcracker...how proudly he sits between my plants...

Yesterday my mom and I went to the show and watched The Christmas Carol. I love that movie don't you? There are so many versions and like the others we enjoyed this one too. It was animated with voices such as Jim Carey's. Geoff and Madeline joined my mom and I for leftovers. Well our leftovers made it quite the smorgasborg actually....we had meatloaf and chili and brocolli/cauliflower slaw....mashed potatoes...gravy...salad...and greens. My mom spent the night and we watched Miracle on 34th Street. That is another so cute movie. It always brings a smile to my face.

Marc's son lives in Hawaii. A couple of years ago he sent me this Hawaiian Santa....
Are you almost ready for Christmas? Have you been watching the wonderful Christmas movies and shows?

I love picking up a few new decorations right after Christmas. Its such a nice surprise to find them when setting up Christmas the next year. Such was the case with this adorable little angel....
My tree has become very little and this year sits on the floor instead of a table...but it really looks pretty lit up in real time....
I wish you lots of happiness this week as you go about enjoying
the upcoming Christmas... Judi xoxo
