My Handmade Snowflake Fondant Cake

I have wanted for the longest time to work with fondant to decorate a cake.   I purchased Wilton’s fondant from Michaels sometime before Christmas but have been too busy with Christmas to experiment.
This week I read Reviews on Wilton fondant on their sight and it seemed an unpleasant taste was common among the Reviews.   What did I do?  Took on the challenge to make my own fondant.
I baked the red velvet cakes and mixed the fondant in my new Cuisinart.  It made a nice ball.
Went through the necessary presteps and then took the plunge… I decorated with the Royal Icing snowflakes and words I’d made the day before..
It is a good thing I made enough snowflakes because they didn't all survive the cake.

I am so pleased with the way it turned out…We’ll have some tonight but I know I’ll hate to cut it.

I can see this opening up a whole new exploratory avenue…. Abby jumped up for pictures too..
Hope you’ve had a successful day with something special today too…. Judi xoxo

I'm gasping! You certainly are talented. That's supposed to be so difficult, and you've produced a super smooth cake.

A big HIGH FIVE!
