Apple Turnovers - Simple and Delicious

Do you use puff pastry? We use Tenderflake puff pastry. It is the greatest and easiest and yummiest to use. This weekend Marc and I made Apple Turnovers with it. I had 1/2 a package in the freezer just enough to make 4 yummy turnovers. The recipe is HERE.

We used Gala apples, raisins, and brown sugar and cinnamon and cooked that in some butter in the frying pan...doesn't this look good? You should have been here to smell how good that smelled. We think it would have been delicious on vanilla ice cream too....

We unfolded the pastry and cut it into 4 squares, placed some of the filling in the middle, folded the pastry from corner to corner, sealed....and baked it. We had problems with the dough for some reason and when it came out they had opened like this.

but all you have to do is sprinkle on a little powder sugar.....

and it looks like it was supposed to be like that. And flakey and warm and delicous? OH yes. Very....mmmm mmmmm. I've also shared previously our Baked Brie with Pear and Cranberries using the puff pastry and it too is very good and easy.

If you haven't yet....then you should make yourself Apple Turnovers...and imagine what else you could put in there...mmmmm... Judi xoxo

Hi Judi! Oh, those turnovers are beautiful and the apples frying in the pan look so good. I've never made any before.
Well, our weather has been quite cold for us that is. We got below freezing a couple of days, but no snow or ice for us.
We're awful, I know, but don't care a hoot about football! We're so bad. I do like to watch the much anticipated commercials though! :)
Hope you're staying warm.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)

Looks so tasty...I have not ever used puffed pastry...yet I love how it tastes.

I just put a cherry pie in the oven...I saw the cherry pie mix on the pantry shelf last night and decided today would be the day. I had frozen pie dough in the freezer - so just put it out to thaw last night.

Yes, we will probably gain weight and drive the blood sugar up - but it will be an enjoyable treat.

How do you stay so slim when you're cooking all of these yummy things? I know that I'd gobble it all up.

I love your new header.

Stay warm and have a good week.
