T-Mike Dinosaur Cake.....and Last Winter Blast?

I "have" to share a fondant cake order for "Dr. Mike".  The lady who ordered has a son who just turned 26 and they are having a family party for him.  He is a doctor....interning right now in the States.  This pan is one his mom used to bake dinosaur cakes for him in when he was little because he loves dinosaurs.
He loves chocolate and coffee flavours so that is what this moist cake is.
  I hope "T-Mike" likes it! (aka T-Rex).

Wiarton Willie our forecaster Groundhog, forecasted an early spring a month ago. A not too bad winter turned very wintery the past 3 days while I've been home for some vacation and baking.

This is what it looks like out there..prior to this our snow had melted and it felt like spring might be ariving. I can't believe its March 1st today!
it is pretty...I like black and white scenes....

Have a great day... Judi xoxo

Seasonal Snowfalls...

Our fall has been wonderful.  The temperatures have been above zero most times and even this week its going up to 40F - 5C.  Very unseasonal but most of us love this.  It shortens winter which sometimes is just too darn long.

However, out of the blue when I woke up on Tuesday there was heavy fluffy snow everywhere.  It was packing type snow and would have made a great snowman.  It was too dark when I left for work to take a picture.
But the next day I brought my camera to work with me.  It was very unusual that the snow lay heavily on the trees because it wasn't really cold and all the roads were dry.

 It was beautiful.
so pretty up close.  Like I had forgotten its beauty even after plowing through so many winters....
forgotten winter as we bathed in the summer's sun that always changes too quickly...to fall
and now to almost winter....
and then the rebirth with spring....but we'll endure winter first and enjoy it best we can....
We're very fortunate to have 4 distinct seasons....Hope you enjoy your seasons too... Judi xoxo
