Indulge Yourself....In THIS life....

I decided I was going to thoroughly enjoy the last piece of mango bar cake at home tonight. I was not going to let myself feel like I should not have been eating it. The latter thought came after a thought provoking sentence I'd read today.

It all started last night though....well Saturday night I suppose. We had friends over for dinner. For dessert we enjoyed a mango bar cake I'd bought from Longo's. It was light and tasted like fresh mango and was just perfect for our Italian themed dinner.

Then last night a rather large piece of my tooth broke while I was eating some chewy bread. This morning my dentist had a cancellation and was able to squeeze me into a 1 hour appointment. He had to put in 2 pins and told me his records showed they'd been watching this tooth since 1998. It looked like it might have had a hairline fracture. I guess I'd been working on it for 13 years and now it had finally broken.

So this is where the thought provoking came in. While waiting to see the dentist I read in a magazine following a wonderful recipe "A life where you deprive yourself of pleasure seems a poor deal to me". I sat there and thought about that. How true. How very very true....and all kinds of realization came to me. One of which was if we continually deprive ourselves then in what life will we get the opportunity to indulge?..... Interesting thought isn't it?

So. Tonight I remembered the last piece of mango bar cake... :o) .... and I thoroughly indulged and loved it!! Let yourself indulge now and again... Judi xoxo
