Inukshuks and Olympic Torch in my Town of Aurora

Today is the opening of the 2010 Olympics. We are so proud and excited to have it held here in Canada. I am in Ontario not close enough but we'll certainly be glued close to the TV as we are during every Olympic.
The Olympic Flame picture above I copied from our Aurora site and if you click on it you can see more pictures. On December 15th, on Day 50, the Olympic Torch run came through my town of Aurora. The last time it was here was 22 years ago. I love watching the Olympics both winter and summer. Will you watch the Olympics? What do you love to watch the most?

Whistler, B.C. which has fantastic snow and hills on the mountains for skiing has had unseasonable weather. Now of all times when the athletes will be competing on those hills. They have been having rain this week. Apparently they are bringing in some snow from the States as well. I can't even imagine. I can't wait to get home and watch.
The symbol for these Olympics is the Inukshuk.

Click on the explanation below to learn more abut the inukshuks.
This fall the Inukshuk became the new "maskot" in our office at work. The photo below is one our new supervisor presented each of us with this week at our staff meeting.

When we drive up north to our family cottage in here in Ontario we see them along the side of the road up on the rocky landscape. Fascinating.
Good Luck at the Olympics to every Athlete ...I wish everyone's dream could come true.
