Last week I showed you the small table I picked up last summer. I've also been posting about the china mosaics I've been working on this year...all 2 months of it! I purchased BLUE Willow plates from Ebay and it is finding its way to the top of my table.
Some of you have been asking me for a tutorial. I have been inspired by other mosaic artists online. Penny from LavenderHillStudio had a tutorial recently and almost a year ago I purchased an online booklet from her on how to do mosaics with china. Visit her to see her tutorial.
I will show you some pictures. Position the tile clipper on the BLUE china and voila 2 pieces.
Here I've cut them into lots of BLUE pieces.
Here I am using adhesive to place the BLUE pieces on to the table.
Thats where I'm at right now. Once I have all the china pieces adhered to the table I'll let it set for 24 hours. Tomorrow I'll make some tile grout and spread that over the whole surface and using shop towels rub it off the china. After another 24 hours I'll seal it with a sealant. I'll show you the finished table once I'm done...maybe next BLUE Monday? I thoroughly am having fun with this mosaic china work.
