Peaceful Friendships....

Mickey and Molly our friends live along the same beach not too far from the cottage on Lake Ontario in New York state. We were there on Valentine's Day.... it was a beautiful peaceful "black and white" kind of day. The ice was still frozen out a distance from the shore. Canada is way across the lake towards the direction you see.

Katy was inside happily craving loves and giving us her paw....

Marky was outdoors waiting quietly, patiently underneath the picnic table on the deck....
Hobo was indoors on the pellet stove which wasn't on but was warmed by the piilot light. She loves this spot. Through the window you can see where Marky is outdoors...waiting....patiently....

because right above him he was either going to catch that little bird.....or eat seed droppings....

Nothing bothered the birds that day....not even a squirrel shared the dried corn on the other side of the feeder pole. We loved sitting there watching them all......

Hope you have a quiet moment today to admire something special.... Judi xoxo
p.s. off topic can someone remind me where to change the "Comment" option where a comment can be left? Mine says "Lovelies" and the number. I can't find where I should be at to change the word "Lovelies" to something else. Sometimes its difficult to find where to leave a comment I've been told. Thank you ....

BLUE Monday...Cruising Lake Ontario

We're on Lake Ontario today for BLUE Monday. Thank you to Sally at SmilingSally for hosting this gathering. Be sure to click and visit all the other BLUE participants today.

Our friends took us out for a ride on their boat on the weekend. We drove golf carts to the marina where the boat is kept. The guys on their theirs and us girls on ours. I'm sitting in the middle here...safe...

This is their 24" boat. We brought nibblies and cold drinks with us. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm day to be out on the lake.

We cruised along the creek to get to the big water and passed all kinds of lovely boats and marinas and cottages. I am mainly showing you pictures of the BLUEness in boats and skies and water. Another day I'll show you the zig zaggy stairs people have built to get right down to the water.

I always love to read the names these boats are christened with....

You can just see the sails of this boat behind the rocky pier coming out from the creek.

After we cruised out a bit we passed our cottage. It is the yellow one 2nd from the right.

The one with the 2 flags on the right is the home of one of the couples who were with us. Their place is very lovely. They have a side yard with deck so perfect for entertaining. You can't see the whole jest of the place from this picture though.

See the nice BLUE homes. Aren't they lovely? This is another nice area to live in along the creek....

Nice blue boats here....and there...

It was a great day. I wish I'd had my bathing suit with me. The other ladies wore theirs under their clothes and did jump in....the water was quite refreshing....

I hope you've enjoyed our cruise on Lake Ontario and the lovely blue boats...blue skies and blue water.... Hopefully your long weekend was a special one. Judi xoxo

A Drive to the Cottage...

On the weekend I drove the route that runs along Lake Ontario to the cottage in NY state. You can see the skies were wanting to threaten. I drive this road for the last hour of the drive. The first couple of hours are a hectic highway drive but this one is so peaceful and quiet.

I always love this house I pass along the way. The picture is a little crooked because I was being good and concentrating on the road (most of the time) . The house overlooks the lake and has a beautiful yard and lawn.

I passed this beautiful lavender along a fence...

This house doesn't really look as good as it does in the picture. I can just imagine how beautiful it would be with a little TLC. Wouldn't that top be a great spot for crafting? It also overlooks the water. Its in a lovely location.

I took a picture of the shed at the cottage to show you the perennial flowers I had planted around it at the end of last summer. The picture also shows the door needing some TLC and paint. Funny I hadn't noticed it as much as I do in the picture.

The daisies were happy.

This is Marc and his grandson Jack having a heart-to-heart conversation. Jack just turned 2 last month.

Marc played in a fundraising golf tournament called the name of 2 dear friends who passed away 18 years ago. Ever since that time this group of golfers and they were up to about 80 this year pays to golf. The proceeds go to a good cause. They had a great day as usual. There was much laughing going on.

It has become a tradition that because one of the couples has a wedding anniversary that weekend they stop at the 17th hole and open up a bottle of champagne to toast. This year a couple of ladies took a break and reappeared in wedding dresses. One of the fellows had been persuaded to change into a black gown with pearls...and he played the rest of the game this way. It was so silly. Later everyone gathered at the Elk's Lodge and we had a delicous steak dinner and prizes were awarded to the golfers and 4-somes that were the best and the worst, and the longest and the shortest. Its always a fun time.
I hope you had a lovely weekend... Judi xoxo
