Sea Theme Scuba Cake for Richard's Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Blue Monday to everyone hosted Sally  at Smiling Sally.  I am joining a little late today.  Be sure to visit Sally for many other blue posts.

Happy Victoria Day to all my Canadian friends.
Today is our holiday Monday and I am home from work.

We celebrated Richard's birthday last night.  Robin scuba dives but Rich has to snorkle and said he wanted to take scuba lessons instead of having to snorkle with the kids all the time. We put our money together and gave that to him for his birthday towards lessons.   Heere are Richard and Robin, both wearing BLUE.

Geoff and Kiley and Austin, dressed in BLUE (Madeline couldn't make it.... :o( )
I baked a cake and therefore the theme had to be a blue sea theme even though he'll be snorkling in lakes.  It was a chocolate mocha cake with my marshmallow fondant covering it.  The shells and octapus were made of fondant and then I added gummy fish and shark and dolphins.

I made a treasure chest box on the top and we wrapped the birthday money in a plastic wrap and tucked it in there.  "Gold" chocolate coins hung out the opening.  BLUE tablecloth....BLUE cellphone.

We gave him cards and the last envelope held a clue to open up the chest.  He did and he was so happy about the prospect of scuba.   Marc and I singing Happy Birthday.

We had a nice evening....
