A Little Dinner Share at the Cottage...

A couple of weeks ago on a cool weekend at the cottage Marc and I were contemplating dinner.  We like planning our meals together.  We decided we'd try a new onion soup recipe for dinner.  Then we agreed an apple pie would be perfect for this time of year.  We would be able to share the pie with Bob and Georgia next door.

Just on key the phone rang.  It was Georgia.  She too was taking advantage of cool weather cooking.  You see she likes to rise early and and start cooking at 5:00 a.m.!  She had baked fresh bread, cooked a decadent ham, sauteed cabbage and veggies that she wanted us to try.  We were so thrilled.

For dinner we indeed had our onion soup...

along with a ham on wonderful fresh bread sandwich

on the side we had the sauted cabbage and veggies...(we were watching TV and eating on the TV tables)...

and for dessert apple pie.

It was a wonderful Saturday evening dinner.  Georgia knows how to put together the whole package.  For after dinner fun she had rolled up sheets of crossword puzzles and tied them with ribbon.  Fun!

How special to have fun neighbours.... Judi xoxo

What a scrumptious, spontaneous gathering! It sounds like you have wonderful neighbors. The crossword gift was a nice touch!

My husband and I like to plan meals together, too.
