New Apple Gizmo....

The cottage is right at the apple orchard and stands of colourful, juicy apples perfect for pies and apple sauce and apple crisp and mmmmm just eating.  There is a lot of cooking with apples at the Rockledge Cottage in the fall.

So look what Marc got!!  You put on the apple like so....
turn the handle and you watch...
until it gets to the end...
and see how you get these apple rings.  Neat eh? AND see that core just sitting there?
nice uniform sizes perfect for pies for sure or stewing up apple sauce...
Do you have one of these?  If you are an apple cooker kind of person you NEED one.  It makes life so much easier and you get to enjoy your cooked goodness sooner thats for sure.  We just peeled up a couple apples to eat just so we play with apple peeler.  It peels, cores and slices.  Yum!
Have a great day!! Judi xoxo

Yep, I have one... but... I will say. I use a knife to peel my apples. To me it is far easier than the "Apple Gizmo"! LOL!!

Hi Judi, I used to have one and my daughter wanted it and you know what that means. It is hers now. I miss it but not too often. I wonder if she ever uses it anymore. It was a very good one. So now I just peel my apples.

We head home to NC tomorrow. We have been in FL for over a week. We have two daughters who live in Fl with their families. It was a great visit but I am yearning for my mountains. It is supposed to snow when we get home. I hope it waits for us to make it home safely.

Take care,
Hugs, Jeanne

Hi Judi! Oh, I love that little contraption! I don't have one, though, but have seen them. I love to eat apples and my favorite is to peel and slice them, put some butter, brown sugar and cinnamon on top and bake them a few minutes! Yum!
Thanks for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

I just saw one of those at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I almost got it but I would have to start baking. I'm still undecided.

These are wonderful tools.
My husband just got finished using one to cut apples for the dehydrator. Now he has bags full of dried apple slices.
Have fun !
