We Waffed and Waffed.....

June 30th was Marc's birthday. Happy Birthday honey!
Marc's son Christopher has been over at the lake from Hawaii arriving as a birthday present for his dad on the 30th also . His daughter Janet and Ryan and little Jack also came over for birthday dinner. I picked up a chocolate cake and had "Happy Birthday Marc" written on it.

After dinner I was in the kitchen putting the candles on the cake. The cake was still on the plastic bottom cake container when I started to walk out of the kitchen. The cake tried to slide off the plastic piece but I managed to push it against the side of the container and save it from the fall. I was heard saying "whew I almost lost the cake".....

As I started again it started to slide off again....my other hand held the cake knife and lighter....I couldn't stop it before it fell right on the floor... The kitchen and diningroom are divided by an open counter/window so I was heard saying "oh...dear...this time it DID fall". I couldn't believe it! I tried to scoop the cake back on the plate. The others had run into the kitchen and were snapping pics of the "cake" now all a mess sitting on the floor. We laughed and laughed...some how it all seemed to be soooo very funny.... The candles were every direction inside and outside the cake.

The candles were lit...Happy Birthday was song we still laughed as we ate the cake. The next day Jack came over again. He just turned 3 and he told us the whole story about the cake, the close call and then the fall...then he said "we waffed and waffed..." We really did laugh again.

Life is really too short to sweat the small stuff and laughter is the best medicine.... Judi xoxo

Oh, Judi, how funny! I can just imagine how your felt as the cake was slipping and sliding! But you and your family certainly have the right attitude! I love what little Jack said - we waffed and waffed! How precious!
I hope your day is good too, sweet friend.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
