BLUE MONDAY

Happy BLUE Monday hosted by Sally at SmilingSally. Be sure to click to go to visit all the other BLUEness participants on her site!

Today is Canada's 2nd "Family Day" so I am off work today. How nice! For my birthday in January my Finnish girlfriend gave me a Finnish Cookbook and its cover has BLUE (I'm also Finnish background). It is the second Finnish book I have.

So far I used a recipe in it to make this Date Cake. I served it on a BLUE and white plate.
These dishes were the first blue ones I had ever bought. They were a thrift purchase. I could NEVER bring BLUE into my home. I admired it everywhere else but thats it. I was soooo not a BLUE person! After seeing all the beautiful BLUES in Blogland for months and months my mind "twisted" around and BLUE jumped in! I was "cured"..*lol*.. Very interesting concept to me.

Also I recently rearranged my china cabinet. My BLUE Willow cup and saucers made their way into the cabinet. I really love that pattern.

Have a lovely happy BLUE Monday.....Judi xoxo

Hi Judi, thank you for a lovely comment on my post today.

I love the Finnish cook book and the date dessert looks soooo good. I love anything with dates. How nice to have family days off. Not in the USA. However, we do have lots of holidays throughout the year.

I smiled at what you said about blue. I love blue but it has not been part of my home decor except for a blue and yellow guest bedroom in the cabin on our property. I love the way sneaked it's way into your china cabinet. It looks great too.

Happy Blue Monday.
Hugs, Jeanne

Hey there...

Welcome to the Blues! I'm kind of "anti-blue" too... except for cobalt. I love cobalt blue glass... and I love blue/bright green/yellow together.... and I'm looking forward to using it in my "new" kitchen... whenever it gets done.

Hugs, and Happy Friends /Family day? Penny Sue
