WINNER of 1 Dozen Decorated Sugar Cookies - GIVEAWAY

Well I was on my own doing this Draw and I didn't have anyone to share my excitement with.  I had 14 names for the Draw.  I printed the names at work because I'm out of ink at home.

I numbered each one then saw I had 3 more names from another post to add.

 I had to squeeze them by date and time and fixed up the original numbers I had. 

I cut them, folded them and put them into my bean pot.  That seemed like a good place to draw from.  I tossed them around in the pot and while they settled.

I entered the numbers the lucky number generator was going to draw from.

The lucky number it chose was "12" ... guess who it was?

                      Happy Memorial Day to all my American Friends....
We had a restful weekend at the cottage this weekend but we managed to work around the cottage and I did some planting.

I planted containers on the deck...

Our  new hydrangea was like this last weekend

 but look at it one week later.

The herbs were planted in the wheelbarrow.

This is the 2nd summer for this hydrangea and I was so excited to see how nicely it has grown and it has flowers!

The shop window box is planted....

but I forgot to take pictures of the flower garden around the shop.   The wind chime is once again hung in its usual place by the deck....

This is the new hanging plant by the front door....

and isn't this a lovely display of hanging flowers next door at Bob and Georgias?

Although the weather wasn't as warm as they said it was going to be (except for today) it was great for some people who braved the coolness and the cold waters to jet ski and travel on their flat boat.

and it was lovely.  I didn't want to leave this morning.  But I'm back and baking an order of decorated sugar cookies for a baby shower.

I have had the worst kind of blogging time for quite some time.  It was because of this....

My lap top was so slow and tired and it wasn't a quick processor even when it was "young" but now it took me forever to do anything.  I felt a great amount of my life was wasted just waiting..and waiting on it...  I was having an awful time trying to put my cookie pictures on my Etsy site as well.

I am SO excited because at Rockledge cottage this week Marc had a brand new laptop for me!  I was really so happy.  He just spoils me I will say.

It looks so pretty.....  Marc said he was going to choose a lid with daisies for it.  I might change it one day but I'm liking the pretty black.   If you've had an old tired computer you know what I mean....have you?

I bet you can tell that its very fast because I've been able to do a bit more posting....in between baking.  I have had fun baking for sure.

Hydrangea and Bird Pal at Cottage

It was a beautiful weekend at Rockledge cottage.  We meant to do more planting but we galavanted instead and visited but we did buy a new hydrangea.  I love them. You can tell its a pink one but we have all the soil requirement adjustment instructions on it to help change it blue.  Now that would be fun to do.

Right now its sitting on the deck in a large pot.  Once we get a skirt put on the deck and have it stained we'll have a place to plant it. 

I put a solar light with a sweet birdy on it into the pot.  Doesn't it look sweet? 

It was a warm day in town but by the lake there was a light  breeze and the air was so fresh.

Sweet Cookie Giveaway....Happy Victoria Day!

          Its a GIVEAWAY and Happy Victoria Day to my Canadian Friends...

It is Victoria Day weekend in Canada.  Marc and I are enjoying a beautiful long weekend at the Rockledge Cottage in NY.  We were together with friends last night for a picnic.  I'll share the appetizer we brought over when I get home and can download my pics.  It was very yummy.

Cookie Sales at the Fleamarket

Because we all got together on Saturday for Mother's  Day and Richard's birthday, on Mother's Day I went to a local flea market with my decorated sugar cookies.

I was very productive after work each evening baking and decorating cookies like this....

I made a lot of cake balls and cake pops...oh I love those...

and then I got up early, packed up my car....and off I went.... Here are some pictures of my table.

Richard and Robin arrived in the morning with a cooler full of ice and water and Gatorade and to keep me company.  Then my mom showed up as well.  It was such a warm day.  I am grateful I had a patio umbrella with me or we would have melted.

It wasn't the busiest kind of day and I believe Mother's Day had something to do with it.  But I did get some good contacts and saw happy faces eating up my cookies.

Mother's Day Celebration and Happy Birthday Richard

I hope all my blogging friends had a very beautifully Happy Mother's Day!   A lovely day whether you are a mother yourself, celebrating your own mother or a mother dear to you.

It was a very nice day at my mom's where we celebrated Mother's Day and my youngest son Richard's birthday.  Some threatening rains passed by and we were able to sit outdoors and visit.

I received beautiful roses from my eldest son Geoff, Kiley, Madeline and Austin....

and a beautiful hanging plant from Richard and Robin....

Today is actually Richard's Birthday...may your birthday today be extra special and happy and may the year bring all of the very best.  You deserve it....

Missing my Father Today on His Birthday...

 Today I really miss my handsome father....

 

 Today would have been his 85th birthday.

My father was a very sweetheart of a dad, grandfather, and husband.  He was a hard worker, very optimistic, loved to laugh and so loved his family.

 He loved the outdoors...

He was always busy whether building or fixing something, playing his accordian, socializing and ball room dancing with my mother, fishing, spending time doing something at the cottage with my boys....with all of us.  He was so interested in everything.

My father was so very full of life always and no matter whether he was not feeling good he tried to feel better and he just didn't want to give up.  But 5 years ago yesterday I know he still didn't give up even though he went up to be with the Lord.

He is in our thoughts all the time.  There is so much I wish I had talked to him about.  I just never thought he was going anywhere....yet.  But I think of the wonderful times and I see his laughter and hear his little jokes and that makes me smile.   I love you dad...always...    Judi xoxo
